How Far We(I)’ve Come

A great song by Matchbox Twenty? You think, He’s gonna talk about that? No, even though it is a great song. I want to talk about how my (php) coding has advanced.

I began coding I’d say around 3-4 years ago. One of those original coding projects I did was an online game for my french class. It wasn’t very good, but it did the job and I got an A. Anyways, I’ll let all of you take a look at it as long as you promise to stay quiet about my horrible coding back then. If you have something like this, feel free to send me a zip file of it (just a note: my server only supports PHP/MySQL), and I’ll add it to this post.

Anyways, heres my ‘NCJ (Nate, Christian, and Jeff) French Game’. (I was the sole coder).

I <3 Red Octane

Sometimes companies mess up. That’s what Red Octane did with Guitar Hero III (Wii) sound (it was mono… not good for a music related game, especially). Anyways, I bought the game and was annoyed with the Mono sound. So, I opted for the Disc Exchange provided by Activision/Red Octane.

The expected turnaround time for the disc was 4 weeks. Mine got here in 2. Then, today when FedEx dropped by, they left me a little surprise. A brand new faceplate.

Don’t you love it when companies go above and beyond? Voice your opinion in the comments.

Get your very-own ultra-special old-computer.org e-mail address!!

Well, wasn’t that an interesting title. Anyways, getting back on topic, the first 7 (thats my lucky number) people to comment on this post get their own old-computer.org email address. This offer, well, It ain’t that big of a deal, but maybe it can get the party goin with this site (if you know what I mean…). Anyways, we don’t have our own team of blood-thirsty lawyers, so I’m just gonna put a few rules in place here.

  1. You have to know how to use Google Apps.
  2. You have to like the Old-computer.
  3. You can only get 1 (if I find you try to cheat, you won’t get any)
  4. You can’t send spam with it
  5. I can delete it at any time for any reason

Thats not too hard, is it? Well, have fun, and Comment away!

(Oh, and don’t forget to say what you want your username to be in your comment.)

Welcome to old-computer.org!

Hey,

You may be wondering why you have been bounced to this page. Well that’s because old-computer.org has now been merged with my personal blog. It will still (in the future, I’m still workin on it) have information about old computers, but with a different twist. It will take me a while to get it workin right, so for now you have to deal with my random ramblings (ill try to keep touchy stuff out of here).

Hope you enjoy,

Jeff

PS. I need to tell you right now that this site will be completely legit. I don’t need the problems that come with downloads.
