E32008: Disappointments and Achievements

Today, I had the oppourtuinity to watch the E3 keynotes for Nintendo and Sony. One of them was very disappointing, and one of them showed some great Achievements for the video game industry. Can you guess which? Jump the break to read my opinion.

(You must know that I didn’t see Microsofts Keynote)

The Disappointment: Nintendo. Sure, they released Animal Crossing… and Wii Music, and that little new motion sensing thing, but none of these announcments were great, plus there was a bit of wasted time in the Keynote. (Don’t get me wrong, I love Nintendo, this was just disappointing).

The Achievement: Sony. Normally, I wouldn’t like the PS3 (or 2, for that matter) much, but there were some amazing announcments. First Resistance 2. That game is amazing looking. It kinda reminds me of Cloverfield. Pure astonishment. The other big thing was their final announcment, MAG. It is a 256 player Massive Action Game (I think…). You have little teams of 8, who all come together onto the same team. It looks amazing, and according to Sony, the graphics are pushing the PS3 to its limits.
