OSX on the Eee-Pc

I found this little tidbit of information today, and I think that it is particularly neat. Some clever soul out there has figured out how to get OSX running on an ASUS Eee-Pc. You can hit up the guide here, and get archived versions of the (critical to installation) files here and here (please try the links to these files in the guide first, these are slow and only to be used in necessity).

AJAX Stuff Disabled… For Now

I decided to disable the AJAXed Wordpress plugin for now, as it is causing more problems than it is worth.

However, maybe we will see its return in the future.

NoteScraps Review

I recently decided to try out this new program I heard about from Logos called NoteScraps. NoteScraps is a Note Management program, where you can enter any little tidbit of information that may be scattered around your desk (However, I wouldn’t keep my SSN in it as seen in their introuductary video.) NoteScraps costs $20, however there is a free trial version at their website.

Apple Mini USB Power Adaptor Recall

Well, it looks as if Apple is having yet another problem with product recalls. Apparantly, the miniature USB AC adaptors that started shipping along with the iPhone 3G need to be recalled. You can start the process here.

Also, this post marks the insertion of the “Apple” catagory into the blog. None of the previous posts about apple-related stuff will be recatagorized, but any future ones will be there.

iTunes 8… Eureka!

Yesterday, Apple announced a new line of (amazing) iPod nanos and a new iPod Touch, along with an iPod Classic (mini) refresh. With all these new iPods, Apple also announced release of iTunes 8. Well, even though the Grid View and Genius are cool, iTunes 8 brings back something that I have cherished… NBC TV Shows. And along with NBC came Sci-Fi, USA, and Bravo! Say hello to The Office, Monk, and my all time favorite TV Show (for now) EUReKA!!!!!!

Old-Computer has been AJAXED!!

I just installed a new plugin to add a little bit of AJAX to the blog. The main thing that it does is load posts inline, so you can click “Continue Reading” and it doesn’t make your browser reload. Give it a try then comment on this post with any bugs/opinions on it.

Registrations Enabled!

Finally, I have figured out a way to bypass the fact that I don’t have mail() enabled on my server! Thanks to the Wordpress Plugin, Register Plus, you can now register on my blog! Just don’t expect to be recovering any passwords anytime soon… (If you need a new password, feel free to contact jeff@old-computer.org)

One more thing. All registrations must be approved by me. However, that process shouldn’t take too long.
